For EA clients, Migrations can be scheduled as soon as 5 hours from the time the request is made. This is down from our previous restriction of 24 hours. The restriction was in place to allow for proper scheduling of our resources. The migrations workflow has been enhanced and metrics have shown a consistent improvement.
It is important to note, that if clients select the “First Available” Option when submitting the migration request, it will still be immediately released to the teams queue. This is still typically the fastest turnaround, but we understand that sometimes our clients need something scheduled for a specific time.
We hope this is a big benefit to our clients by allowing for intraday scheduling.
In the case of an emergency migration, please select the “First Available” Option. Put Emergency in the Short Description and Required Time of Execution.
Provide a brief description of the issue and desired timing in the Additional Comments.
Our team will review your request internally and do our best to secure the supporting resources. Our teams have the ability to override the Requested Execution Time. So, once that time is set, the request will be in a locked state until the desired execution time is reached.
There is a time for the emergence fix that has to be installed with 24 hours window but needs to be migration at an exact time point (for example, we have to put all jobs on hold so we have to ask the migration to be done between 4 pm and 4:30 pm). Your two option does not cover this case.
The migration request type has a First Available and Request an Installation Time option.
First Available: Requests will be released for execution and will be processed based on the order in which they were received.
Request and Installation Time: Clients can request a specific installation timeframe, which will be reviewed by Eagle for approval and resource allocation. Once approved, the request will be flagged as "Scheduled".
NOTE: Earliest time this request can be scheduled is 24 hours from current time to allow time for resource assignment.
Eagle ACCESS is assessing the 24 hour scheduled planning window.
