This feature was made available as part of our July 2018 Ganga release.
You can select the Column Icon and choose the optional fields called Component and Sub-component.

Thank you for your feedback. This will be something we will need to review. I would be interested to get feedback from the client portal user community to see if this is something other users are looking for as well.
