About 10 times a day, I click "Clear Filters", then close the panel with the "x" and my view is still filtered. It's just counter-intuitive! THANKS

This is by original design which required the apply button to be selected to actually apply the filter.
The GOOD NEWS is that we have a release targeted for June that improves filtering. The filtering are applied to the list view in real time, so you can see the data filtering as you are selecting the desired fields. This applies to the “clear filters” as well.
You won't be notified about changes to this idea.
